Groubal, a recent start up , has created a new term: a Groubal: a complaint submitted by a consumer, turned into a Petition. Anyone can create a petition and spread it around the web, forming what Seth Godin might describe as a tribe of people with like interests. If there are enough signatures, Groubal takes the popular  complaints forward to the company demanding answers. This function was often done by the media but now there is a new technique for consumer complaints to get aggregated and heard.

There are currently 382 Groubals on the website with about 2555 signatures. At the time of writing this article, the most popular Groubal had 829 Signatures. Looking around the site the most current groubals had only a few signatures. But this idea could gather steam. Here’s a video from ABC on the goal of Groubal

Watch this organization and this concept. I believe the idea will gather steam over time. Google Sidewiki had a similar objective. I  believe the biggest problem is consumer awareness. Groubal has created a game on Facebook to try to get the word out. The objective of the game: Bet against the companies who you think will fail their customers the most, and join Brigades to demand better service. What are you thoughts?
