Why a Complaint Choir?
Consumers are always looking for new ways to express their dissatisfaction with organizations around the world. Here’s a technique I found on the web that I am not sure will take off but should one of these go viral, it might become a new trend.
What is a Complaint Choir?
A Complaints Choir is a group of singers singing about complaints. In cities and locations around the world, people gather complaints, a composer sets them to music, then singers rehearse and perform them. Complaints choirs started first in Birmingham in England in 2005. It has spread all over the world. For more background, visit www.complaintschoir.org. There is a complaints choir movie and Facebook Fanpage. Here’s a map from the Complaintschoir.org site of where the complaint choirs are located.
In Canada, the next Complaints Choir is forming. Complaints will be formatted into a song and the Complaints Choir will perform from Mar 21 to Mar 26, 2011 at various locations around the city. See the Toronto Star article called “Put Your Complaints to Song”
The international organization for Complaint Choirs is located in Denmark and they have a website for those contemplating creating a Complaint choir.
Do you think complaint choirs are effective? Or are they just ‘fun’?
